Elizabeth Stuart, PhD

Dr. Stuart is a Professor in the Department of Mental Health, the Department of Biostatistics, and the Department of Health Policy and Management of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Associate Dean for Education at the School. 

Dr. Stuart’s primary research interests are in statistical methodology for mental health research, particularly relating to causal inference and missing data. Dr. Stuart primarily works in the areas of education, prevention, and intervention. The applied areas Dr. Stuart focuses on include autism, the long-term consequences of adolescent substance abuse, education, mental health services and systems, and the effects of health care reform models on mental health service use.

Dr. Stuart co-Directs the Center for Mental Health and Addiction Policy Research and is the Methods Editor for the Journal of Research on Educational Effectiveness.
