Sular Gordon is 74 years old. She retired from Committed Caring Faith Communities in 2016 She experienced a minor stroke in October of 2016.

Sular is now the alumnus of the WashU Community Research Fellows Training (CRFT) program. Sular started working with ENGAGE, a project that allows her to work alongside researchers at Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Illinois-Chicago, and the University of Pittsburgh. ENGAGE is a pilot project that focuses on community-based methods of promoting self-management and community participation among adults with low income who have mild to moderate stroke-related disabilities. As a Patient Research Advisory Board member, Sular Gordon serves as a peer mentor alongside Dr. Carolyn Baum, professor of Occupational Therapy at WashU. 

Sular’s favorite pastimes are novel reading, oil canvas painting, and serving in her church. She’s the author of  “Being Sustained through the Pandemic By God’s Word and Prayer”. Sular is married to Henry Gordon, and has three grown children and seven grandchildren.
